Adamek takes risky fight against Aguilera on March 24th
Tomasz Adamek is scheduled to fight Nagy Aguilera on March 24 as part of NBC Sports Network Fight Night show being headlined by Zab Judah vs. Vernon Paris. Today, Adamek along with other representatives expressed his views regarding the bout and his past fights in a media conference.

First to comment on the event was Kathy Duva, CEO Main Events of NBC Sports Network.She said, "Everybody knows we have a great, loaded card on March 24th. The fight will be on NBC Sports Network. We have a great, little venue in the Aviator, I wish we could have had a bigger venue but the availability of arenas dictated that this was our location. It's going to make for a great night I think everyone is going to be excited and thrilled to be there. We have so many good fights on the card. And we're blessed to also have in addition to the main event which will feature Zab Judah vs. Vernon Paris, and a co-feature with Sergei Liakhovich and Bryant Jennings."

Aguilera vs Adamek live streaming online 24.03.2012 .Former World Light Heavyweight and Cruiserweight Champion Tomasz Adamek and trainer Roger Bloodworth spoke to the media following an open workout at the World Boxing and Fitness Center in Jersey City, New Jersey on Thursday. In the second installment of NBC Sports Network Fight Night series, Adamek, 44-2, 28 KO’s, will face “Dominican Dynamite” Nagy Aguilera, 17-6, 12 KO’s. The bout will take place Saturday, March 24th at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn on the undercard to Zab Judah’s Homecoming bout against Detroit’s Undefeated Vernon Paris.
Next was Adamek who said that boxing is his life and that winning is not mandatory every time; fighters win and lose. He said he lost his last fight against Vitali Klitschko because he was not up for it.
Commenting on his age and potential, Adamek remarked that he is old yet he has the potential and the hunger to give out a couple of more fights. He then compared Vitali with Nagy saying Vitali is very different from Nagy, since the latter is of his size unlike Vitali who is tall which gives him added advantage over short opponents. He then went onto to comment on his fight against Vitali Klitschko, which took place last year on March 24. He said that he was slow against Vitali but now he is in form and Nagy will see his speed.Kathy Duva again pitched in when she was asked as to what the whole event means for NBC Sports. She replied that all of them have worked hard to ensure the event is successful and that most fighters are now ready and already excited for the event.
Tomas Adamek (44-2, 28 KO’s) has elected to take on a big puncher in his fight coming up on March 24th when he faces Nagy Aguilera (17-6, 12 KO’s) in a 12 round fight at the Aviator Sports Complex, Brooklyn, New York, U.S. Adamek, 35, didn’t want to take on a stiff for this fight after losing by a 10th round stoppage to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko last September in Poland.
For whatever reason, Adamek resisted the urge to go back to fighting the stiffs that he’d been fighting since he moved up to the heavyweight division in 2009. Adamek may end wishing he’d taken on a lighter hitter because Aguilera can really punch and he does very well against guys with only minimal power and size like Adamek. I wouldn’t be surprised if Adamek were knocked out in this fight because Aguilera is no joke. He may have problems taking shots against big punchers like Samuel Peter and Chris Arreola, but he’s good against the other guys. Adamek obviously isn’t going to try and trade with Aguilera unless he knows with a high degree of certainty that he can land his shots without getting hit in return.

Aguilera can be out-boxed. Antonio Tarver, Darrel Madison and Maurice Harris were all able to out-box him, but they all took big shots from him in the course of winning. Adamek couldn’t stay on his feet against Vitali last September and took some heavy punishment. Aguilera is fighting Adamek at the fight time with him coming off a disappointing loss that could undermine his confidence. Aguilera is good enough to win a fight even if he’s being out-boxed. His power is good enough for him to come back in fights if he falls behind early against Adamek. It’ll be interesting because Adamek will likely use nonstop movement all night long in order to stay away from Aguilera’s power shots.
